Hehe...and all I wanted was the license to practice law!?!?
Hey, Rob: Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die. : )

I am back on vicodin. Wanna know why? I cracked my head open. Yeppers. I now have five staples in my head. Lovely, ain't it?!! I do not even have a good story to go with it. I was unpacking from the move; I reached into a deep box and pulled up some lightweight stuff. I came up too quicky and dug the corner of the cabinet door into my head. The funny part about it is that, after passing out and coming to because of the blood, I called my parents. Nope, not 911 or anything smart... Noooooo, I call my parents who live too far away to do anything AND had been drinking a couple glasses of wine. After talking to my mom, I decided to knock on some neighbors' doors to see if anyone could drive me to the ER. No one was home. I went back home, sat on my couch with ice and a rag on my head, wondering if I should call 911, some friends, or just go to bed and see if I was fine in the am. I called some friends. No luck. I called the Kaiser Nurse Line. LOL!!! The guy told me, "Oh, you're a bleeder? And you're bleeding? Uh, ma'am, you need to go to the hospital, you could die." Hrmmm, and you got to be a nurse and get this job, HOW? I decided to knock on some more doors in my complex - finally found one. I introduced myself to my new neighbor and then asked for a ride to the ER. Interupted a perfectly good poker game too. *sigh*

Made it to the ER safe and sound, despite his apparently having been stoned. Walked into the ER, checked in, and waited. Can you believe it??? I waited in the waiting room, bleeding from my head. Lower than the low standard I held for Kaiser. Finally, someone read my check in report and saw "Head wound, bleeding". Dumbf***s!!! So, once I made it into Trauma, I was led to a room. Sat there for a bit until the doctor, who was working on a patient on the bed next to me, was told I was waiting for her and that I had head trauma. She flew off the handle at the nurse. After that, it all went pretty quickly - CT Scan, results, Lidocain, and staples in the head.

Rob had been out in SCV and came as soon as he could to take me home. Good thing too - I decided if I could not get a ride, I would take a cab. Nope. The ER will not release a head wound patient to anything other than a live breathing person, who will sign for them. Poor Rob. He is so good to me. He listened to the shpeel from the doc about having to wake me every two hours for the first 24 hours, and then making sure I followed up per the instructions she handed him. Also, if symptoms continue, take some Tylenol or Vicodin and come back if those do not help. Then, he drove me home.

Rob has told me that the next time he has to take me or pick me up from the ER, there is a fee. Yeah, guess I kinda deserve that. He picked me up from the ER, took me to the ER, and was on call all during my gall bladder crap.

Anyhoooooo, yes, I got all moved - thanks to Johhny and Skip!!! Without their help, it never would have happened. After all, the moving company called at 6pm on a Friday to say they would not be there Saturday morning. Thanks, f***heads. Thank heaven for the Yellow Pages and 24 hour moving companies. I am still in the midst of unpacking, but very close to done (I have to wait to finish until I can bend over and come back up - it can cause blood rush to the head and really screw me up.) I have almost everything done at my old place for the move-out inspection. Even my red wall (which I loved) is primed up and white. Blech.

Work has not stopped being busy. I am looking forward to my next girly day with Jen. I need my hair colored, but that is NOT going to be happening for about four to six weeks. I have to heal completely before any chemicals are put on my head. Probably just our nails, some wandering about, little java, and some food.

This ended up WAY longer than I truly had time for - I have to run. I am supposed to have my DSL online this week, but it is not looking like that will happen according to plan. At the latest, the end of next week. Until then, I will keep reading everyone's journals without commenting and try to update here at least once more until I get my own 'puter up and running.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
