2005-01-28 6:31 AM A weekend in Paso Robles - YAY!!! Mood: excited - let's get this show on the road Read/Post Comments (1) |
Hehe...and all I wanted was the license to practice law!?!? Hey, Rob: Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die. : ) The interview on Wednesday was weird. I kind of felt like the interviewers had no interest in what I was saying. They apparently were impressed with both my education qualifications and my work history, but nevertheless were very diassociated from the interview itself. I talked to Scott (the one who works there and told me about the position) and he said not to worry, they are always like that. Eh. I did not get the job though. Bummer. They needed a fluent spanish speaker. I love it; I have four years of spanish under my belt, but all I can remember is how to ask where the bathroom is, what a person's name is, how to get back to my boat, how much something costs, for more alcohol (of any variety), and to say thanks. Oh yeah, my expensive education is really paying off, don't you think? I used to be almost fluent in spanish, but after not being in it all day every day for so long, I truly do not remember it. Some say it is like riding a bike, and that may be true, but I need to take a refresher course or something because it was NOT happening for me when the interviewer talked super fast in spanish during the interview. Yesterday was Teen Court. four cases, three of which were petty theft. Eee-gads, it is a sad commentary of the times. The other was a battery. All three had facts and circumstances so distinct from one another, but for the influence of 'friends'. I learn something everytime I hear another case. Today, *sigh* finally is here. I am going to finish up my packing, grab the carne asada from the butcher, go by Solvang, and get to Lisa's around 5:30. Tonight the plans changed and we (Lisa, her hubby, and I) are going to be attending a work thingy for his job in SB. Hmmm, sounds cool. I mean, I have another friend who works for the same company - the company seems to know how to hold events and parties (some times too much party and less work related stuff, but no one cares.) I do not know the scheduling of anything, but I do know we are going to visit Justin winery, perhaps one or two others, and hopefully the aquarium. Alot depends on whether the rain holds off or comes down badly again. Regardless of anything, I am looking forward to the road trip there and back and hanging for the weekend - the other stuff is just icing on the cake. Next week, I will be in Compton or Carson for DRS. One of the ladies working there needs to be at another school, so I will be covering whichever one of the two needs me. It will be cool to see Gil again. He is the kind of teacher to these kids I wish I had and I wish there were more of. He is an asset to his students and to the world of mediation. Well, folks, I am audi 5000... Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
