2005-02-13 6:42 PM Self Induced Isolation Mood: exhausted and stuffed up Read/Post Comments (0) |
Hehe...and all I wanted was the license to practice law!?!? Hey, Rob: Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die. : ) Eck. Sick... again. Whatever. Sinus infections used to be a part of daily life for me, but since I had surgery on my sinuses, it has been pretty easy going. This time, I accept all fault. Three people around me are and have been recently sick and I spent time with all of them in the last week. Oh well. My choice. I get to deal with the consequences. I have an ENT appointment tommorrow. Just need the crap to clear the infection, the rest will work its course. Of course, the anemia has been bouncing, but I am trying to control it with the prenatal iron pills from the hematologist. The fevers make me nervous because they are so high, but my body is also dropping temperature very rapidly after; a bit too low, but dropping in any case. My body is trying to fight it and, well, Nyquil kinda of helps. So do Tylenol and Vicks 44D. I hate taking all the crap, but if it decreases the need for anything stronger, I am all for it. Had a job interview on Friday - it went very well. I am meeting the lady who will be my boss on Tuesday to sit in on a session. If I like it, it seems like she loved my resume, my references, and me - I will have the perfect supplemental job. If this works out, it allows the exact schedule I want so I may continue with my own business - which has had more schedulings that I anticipated so soon after really putting my heart into it - and for the impending gloom of the July Bar. I will fill in on details after (1) I am formally offered the position and (2) I decide, after sitting in on a session, that this is a person I can work for. I am pretty sure of the first since she asked me to come to the session this coming week; she said she had not made that offer to any other interviewee. Cool. As for the former, well, it is in an area that I would prefer not to be anywhere around. For those of you that do, please feel free to follow up with the following private group entry. Rob's parents are in town this weekend. They were supposed to come over with him today. After cancelling my plans with Scott yesterday, we opted to have them come over yesterday. Last time Rob was at their home in Utah, a local business went under and liquidated - I bought a very nice Nordictrac stationary bicycle for $70. His parents offered to bring it down the next visit along with the equipment Rob bought. So, I got my bike yesterday. YAY! It has digital everything - monitors, hill patterns... Anyhow, I love seeing his parents - his grandmother came along too, whom I adore - and I got to see him, at least briefly. They did not stick around; Rob is NOT allowed to get sick during the Academy and I certainly do not want to get anyone else sick either. While they were here, Rob gave me something he has been excited about giving me for almost two weeks - an AFLAC duck. He quacks out just like the one in the commercial, "AFLAC, AFLAC, AFLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAC!" *sigh* I am in love (with the duck.) Watched and dozed through many a tv program and tv movie the past two days. In fact, I am going back to do the same thing now. Hasta la vista, comrades.
