2005-02-28 2:48 PM March...in less than 10 hours Mood: bewildered Read/Post Comments (0) |
Hehe...and all I wanted was the license to practice law!?!? Hey, Rob: Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die. : ) I have said it before, I will say it again - I cannot believe it is already going to be March. Wow. So, this weekend I was able to spend time with Rob. Unexpectedly we were able to get together Saturday night. I helped him prep for his LD exam coming up this Wednesday on Criminal Procedure stuff. For those CJ majors and law students, remember the days of Miranda, Searches and Seizures, and all the other Constitutional rights? Flashbacks. He gets it. He likes it as much as any police officer does. He thinks laws go too far to protect suspects at times; a common feeling in the law enforcement field. I had fun quizzing him - for the most part I did not even need his book to ask him the questions, I just made them up from the top of my head. I even remembered the precise definitions of some of the terms he had to memorize. Figures I would; I only studied and 'aced' Crim Law and Crim Pro a gazillion times in undergrad and law school. Sunday I spent with the parentals. My pops made Eggs Benedict for breakfast that were absolutely scrumptious!!! He made the sauce and everything. Mmmmmm... We hung out over some computer games and conversation, along with a quick trip to Macy's for a new *deluxe* and quite expensive knife for pops. What is there about a cooking knife, that makes it worth almost $200 dollars??? It is not like it is made out of platinum or something. Wonders never cease. Anyhow, for dinner we all enjoyed the fabulous lasagna my mom made. It was perfect. My pops made the most delectable rum-cake for dessert. Whoa, was it *loaded* with rum!!! I could feel the rum in my throat as I ate the cake! The cake had rum baked into it (which would cook away), then he soaked it in more rum after it was baked, and the glaze had rum as the main ingredient. Talk about drunk without taking a drink; if I had eaten a larger piece I would have had to stay there. After the parentals, I went to Rob's place for a bit. I gave him and his grandmother some of left-over lasagna and cake to enjoy - which Rob promptly ate as soon as it was handed to him. He also felt the rum in the cake. Too funny. I quizzed him a bit more for his LD test, then headed home. I wanted to make it home before Cold Case Files. Come to find out it was a repeat. Bleh. Today was spent getting everything together for the week. Lots to get done including sessions, an interview, and wrapping up some necessary paperwork for some court ordered sessions. All I have to do is keep reminding myself that I love what I do; so the mundane parts of it, though boring, are necessary. *shrugs shoulders* Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
