Saturday night my parents actually brought me home so R could get a bit more sleep; poor guy has not been able to really get some good sleep in a long while. After hanging out with them at their place for the day and watching The DaVinci Code, we headed to our place with a lasagna. Mmmmmm.

Sunday ended up nothing like we planned - first, D and A had to cancel because A was feeling ill; no chances being taken on this end. Total bummer though, we were really looking forward to spending time with them and having them over for an Easter meal.

Then B had to cancel too because he was ill. M still came over and we had an amazing meal and watched Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium with her. We sent a plate home for B, which we know he enjoyed because he called to tell us so.

Even with just the three of us, by the time M left I was exhausted! I am so glad she came over anyhow and we were able to have SOME sort of an Easter dinner. M brought over a Honeybaked Ham while R and I made up a green bean casserole, broccoli and cheese, croissants, and scalloped potatos. All of it came out super yummy. R even made a second batch of the scalloped potatos for us so we would have some for the next night to go with the left-over ham.

Yesterday afternoon was my first follow-up doctor appointment since being released from the hospital. The doctor checked out the inner ear which still has a bit of fluid which will clear up as time passes. I came home from the hospital with a cold (one of my nurses had a cold while I was there - and as careful as she was, well, I caught it) which turned into an infection. As of now I am antibiotics and steroids for the next five days to try and accomplish two things - avoid any additional swelling which could ocur as a result and to clear up the infection. The infection got into my bronchial tubes, so I am on one of those dosepacks that start out heavy and decrease doses over the week. My fingers are SOOOOO *crossed* that this does not turn into pneumonia again. Murphy must be back from his mini-vacation.

Still dealing with feelings of uselessness, but not as much; I am doing as much as I can on my own and only need help for the bigger things. I cannot drive, so things like doctors appointments or picking up Rx(s) require some assistance. I am not allowed to shower alone - okay, seriously, duh. I did walk to the grocery store myself yesterday morning and pick up what we needed that was on sale and for dinner. Heh, it is only one block away and the walk felt SO nice; I went early in the morning too, so it felt nice to be out in the morning air. Of course, I did not know until today about the infection, so I will not be doing that again - staying out of public places until I am all cleared up and have the green light from the doctor again.

All in all, progress is slower than I hoped, but moving faster than the average patient. I like to be ahead of the curve...*snickers* and hope to remain there. So long as the infection clears up as the doctor anticipates, I should begin rehab/therapy by the end of next week. Assuming that occurs on schedule, then I should actually be back at work sooner than planned. YAY!

Arrivederci from the side of the hill with meadows of poppies always basking in sunshine!

Ghost Orchid - are they not simply lovely?
