By now- every single sports fan in the civilized world has heard about the "PERFECT GAME" thrown by Detroit Tiger's pitcher Armando Galarraga... Everyone seems to be focusing on the wrong issue. Mine is this...if I am the first base umpire- I am aware that I am about to possibly witness history in the making...I know that if I make the final call...I am going to headline SPORTSCENTER...so I can not wait to make that final "out" call. I am dying to call someone "out"...where the HELL did he even consider "safe" from? I never would have even considered the possibility of a safe call. Also...if I were the official score keeper- after he called him safe- I would have ruled it an error so at the very least- he would have gotten a "no hitter". Everyone blew it.
