Really? What did she say? She asked a question that an awful lot of people really want an answer to. Basically, she asked why it is wrong when white (European-American) people use the "n" word and it is alright when black (Afrian-American) people use the "n" word. She was not insulting anyone- she proposed a question . Chris Rock went on television, and radio, and said that when balck people say it to each other, it is not offensive but when other people use it, it is offesnive. My first thought was to totally disagree. I thought it is always offensive. I thought it would be the same as a Latino (Brown American) calling another Latino, a "wetback" and it not being offensive coming from another Lation. So, I tried calling all my white (European-American) friends..."crackers" and "honkies" all weekend. They thought it was funny. But, I realized that it did not bother them. So, I called a black (African-American) friend of mine- who is the "whitest" black person that I know and asked him about it. He said that it depends on who says it. He told me that it does not have to come from a black person ( I am tired of writng "African-American) - it can come from a Latino or someone else...as long as they do not mean it in a bad way. So...to sum this up...it is not exactly who is saying it- it is how it is meant? Wow...and that comes directly from someone that I really respect. By the way...I have 2 African-American step children and two of my best friends are African American...another is from El Salvador...one is Philipino...and I just call them "MY FRIENDS"...
