Well, the alien fem-bot that is my (rarely-glimpsed) domestic side has come and gone, and the house is now pretty clean, after about an hour's work. Which is not a bad way, all in all, to begin a new week.

This weekend was nice. I went with a friend to see Calendar Girls in the cinema on Saturday, which was funny and fun, and yesterday Patrick and I focused on writing. I finished Chapter Twelve of Queen of Thorns and started to think about Story No. 4 for our Great Story Challenge. (Note: I didn't start to write it, alas...but hey, thinking about it is the first step. Right?)

Now Nika's curled up asleep on the sofa with one black-and-white paw tucked up against her head, and I'm trying to psych myself up to write more of the dreaded thesis chapter. Oof. Wish me luck....
