Podding!

Woohoo! Some Girlfriends Can is up at Escape Pod. Patrick and I listened to the first few minutes of it this morning before he had to leave for work, and I can't wait to hear the rest when he gets back this afternoon. Listening to the opening actually made me feel giddy--it's such a rush: you imagine a story and characters in your head, you write them down on paper, and then someone totally disconnected from you reads it out loud, acts it out and gets it completely! I love the actress, Swoopy's, portrayal of Lauren. From the inflections on individual lines of dialogue, to her general tone, she is Lauren, exactly the way I'd imagined her. Yay!!! (And I do love the disclaimer Escape Pod inserted for the story: "Rated PG: Explicit cattiness and violent self-reflection." Of course, as Patrick pointed out, on iTunes that'll just come out as "Explicit...")

Needless to say, it's already on our iPod. :)

Still sick, bleaggh, but so much better that I'm sure I'll be back at work tomorrow. (And yes, I am totally paranoid that they'll be cursing themselves for ever hiring such a sickly weakling, blah, blah, blah...but at least I was really ahead on my work Monday when I left, so it shouldn't be too hard to catch up tomorrow. And my supervisors, as I keep reminding myself, are incredibly nice people, unlikely to be having the kind of vicious thoughts that I imagine...)

Back to the couch, now, but very happy and looking forward to listening to the rest of the story as soon as Patrick gets home...
