Foxwoman!

I can't believe it's taken me so long to post about this - but my story "Foxwoman" has been published in Aeon Magazine, Issue No. 8! And what perfect timing, since that's my story set in long, long-ago Sweden (during the Viking era). I absolutely love the illustration, and I got such a thrill from seeing my name on the cover. Mmmm.... writerly glee.

(And I would have posted about this a few weeks ago, when it was first published, if I hadn't been so out-of-it with grief-crazies these past few weeks.)

Today we did something radical - we cleaned! We haven't done that, oh, pretty much since Nika's diagnosis, 3 or 4 months ago. The living room looks amazingly big, suddenly. And the kitchen is an awful lot less intimidating. There wasn't any real grunge factor in the kitchen, but instead something much scarier: towering piles of paper covering the table - bank statements, magazines, books, bills, threatening letters - who knew what all was in there? I was too scared to touch it, for fear of finding out, until today. Today I actually sorted it all out and cleared it off (pretty much), and lo, I feel powerful. Our recycling bin is also brimmingly full...

Now go check out Patrick's good news!
