Hooray! My story Locked Doors is up at Strange Horizons! It's a very happy New Year's Day for me.

Apart from that...hmm. Being on British time (between 4-8 hours ahead of American time, depending on the time zone), I spent many hours today checking the Strange Horizons website, waiting for the story to go up...I took Maya on a walk along a nearby farm track that looks down across the city (very dramatic as thunder rolled - the rain that came afterwards was less fun)...and Patrick and I spent a couple of hours at Borders this afternoon, where I drank tea and ate leftover Christmas truffles (dark chocolate, mmmm). I meant to work on Congress of Shadows rewrites, but of course ended up reading an Elizabeth Peters novel instead. So now I really, really have to get down to writing for the day...

But hooray for the story being published!
