Quick vote, please: if you were going to pick a name for an English heroine who works as an actress playing "trouser" roles and gets blackmailed into spying for the British (or is it the French? I'm still debating this point) during the French revolution, while staying plucky and probably engaging in forbidden love as dark alchemical plots swirl around her...would it be:

(a) Susanna
(b) Nell
(c) None of the above? (Fill in suggestion here...)

Answers in the comments, please...

This morning's favorite link is my film-student brother David's new blog of film reviews, Albatrosis!, which today gives a passionate defense of the movie of 2006....(wait for it)... Snakes on a Plane! Believe it or not, he even pretty much convinces me, despite the serious snake-phobia which prohibits me from ever actually watching it or any other movie involving snake action (although I did giggle over the photo he posted in his blog)...but then, I grew up watching and loving silly B-movies like Cannibal Women of the Avocado Jungle of Death and Return of the Killer Tomatoes, so I'm a sucker for this kind of thing at heart. Check out his argument.
