Via Meg Cabot, I just discovered one of the most inspirational, feel-good YouTube clips I've ever watched, a 5-minute documentary about the Cat House On the Kings, a no-kill and no-cage shelter for cats and dogs in California. I was initially nervous about watching it - so many animal rescue videos are depressing and/or guilt-inducing! - but this one made me gasp out loud with happiness at a couple of points, and left me feeling really happy...and jealous, because if I had the money, this is exactly the kind of place I'd love to set up! (Although, of course, my personal version would be more dog-centered.)
