"War Is Peace" - Redux

On NPR last week, I heard the recorded voice of an American officer in Afghanistan saying that when a drone missile killed civilians and left many homeless, that it was "in a sense" a "good thing" because it forced the remaining civilians to be more dependent on the National government, thereby making the National government stronger, just the end result that American policy strives for!

My face did one of those vigorous loose-lipped head-shaking cartoon-like moves (ala Lewis Black), and I felt my eyes come out about four inches from my head, staring at the radio!

Nope, I heard right, "War Is Peace"! To end the war, we need to make the National government strong. So just destroy all the civilian homes we can, and the people will make the National government strong, and America can leave!

Now, just see what a little logic can do for you!

Next problem, please!

Unfortunately, yesterday, the first shots were fired on both sides in Korea in what could bring a third war to America, since we are the Seoul-mates to South Korea.

In the same vein as above, I hear the drumbeats of Wall Street, thinking, "War Means Profits!", while rubbing their greedy little hands!

Since the economy responds so well to War, let's have our most profitable year EVER in America, and declare "War Against The People"!

If we had no People left, then the economy would be in the best shape it's ever been! I think I'm on to something here!

Next problem?
