A Tortured Dream I Had...

After the Senate Intelligence Committee released it's Report On Torture, I had a dream about this part of the news story:
"Three detainees faced waterboarding, the simulated drowning technique. Some were left broken by the treatment, pleading and whimpering, one described as assuming a "compliant" position on the waterboarding table at the snap of an interrogator's fingers."
The difference was, that in my dream, the metaphor was completely transparent; the "Torturer" became The Evil Corporatocracy, (in the guise of government), and the "Tortured" were The People. whimper...

But then, my dream metamorphosed and showed me a vision of what Our Sacred Democracy calls out for!

A future wherein The People snap their fingers, and Government quivers and pleads to be compliant.

(Right? Can we high-five on that image? Hey-Yo!)

The Will of The People demands Justice! Per the Geneva Conventions. Prosecutions are not at the whim of some ruling junta, like the US government, NO!

The Geneva Conventions clearly state that TORTURE MUST BE PROSECUTED!. Torture is NEVER permitted! And we, the United States of America, are a signatory to this Treaty.

Can we, will we, follow our own laws? Is there Equal Justice under Law? Can we prosecute these torturers AND those who authorized that torture? Can we demand, NEVER AGAIN IN OUR NAME!

Um. Yeah. Right. Dream on, Dobe!
