Velvet, Leaves of December
Previous Entry :: Next Entry

Mood:
Happy

Sittin here at lunch, eating healthy stuff that I brought from home for lunch, contemplating my weekend plans/goals, and singing "Like Velvet" (I think that's the title) and other songs that Belinda sang last night at her last, and fairly significant gig at "The Gig" last night. She's really good. She sounded a lot better last night, the background music was mixed and not as overpowering as last time and she seemed a lot more confident in her interraction with teh audience.

And she sounds awesome.

Okay, a little background about my buddy Belinda. First, you can catch what she is up to at http://www.belindabach.com (yes, directly decended from Bach) She came out to LA to be able to do more for her music and well, she's doing it. She composes all of her music, plays guitar, and sings. Some of what she performs onstage has her previously recorded compositions, some she does with acoustic guitar. Its a very nice folk/goth style, very pretty. She's on her way to taking some big steps in her career and I wish her luck. Her album and single are both great. My favorites are "Leave of December" and "Like Velvet"

After the show last night, did my storyteller report for the game I run (late yet again, oh well) and then took a long hot bath. Used some of the cool bath stuff that Erik's mom gave me for Christmas. :)

Woke up early this morning, came to work, didn't realize that I was about 20 minutes late. Damn bus driver. As I didn't call work to let them know (my watch stopped after I forgot to take it off in the hot tub New Years Eve) bosses weren't too terribly thrilled. Need to pay more attention.

I lost track of time this morning because not only did I not have a watch, but I was really into a book called "Good Omens" by Terry Prachett and Neil Gaiman. It's pretty funny. I originally picked it up as a gift, but Erik told me that if I haven't read it yet then I should. He's right, it's really good, and really funny.

Work so far as been pretty good. I've been able to address a lot of customer's problems, and have had fairly pleasent conversations with customers all day. It's nice to be appreciated.

Well, off to finishing my lunch and then back to work. Cheers!

:)
Oh, by the way:

I am 57% evil.

I'm getting there. I haven't done all the damage I could do but I've done quite a bit. I'm just over the border into the Evil Zone.

Are you evil? find out at Hilowitz.com
