When I was 5, I remember telling my mom, my sister, and other people, that I wanted to be like Cyndi Lauper when I grew up. (Although a few months ago I did find something I wrote in the 2nd grade where I claimed that I was going to be a computer programmer when I grew up, but we won't get into that. *smirk*)

Now that I'm 24 (almost 25, eeek!), and know a lot more about life, style, stress, energy, work, money, relationships, and all of the other stuff that you are supposedly supposed to pick up on when you "grow up" I've looked back on that vow. And, after the amazing performance at the concert last night, the energy, the connection with the fans (she spent about 4 songs walking around the arena, shaking hands, hugging, being all dramatic and Cyndi-like), the talent and vibrance of that woman (who turns 50 in June), I've decided on something...

I want to be like Cyndi Lauper when I grow up. :)

The concert was Cher's Farewell Tour, and Cyndi opened for her. Both performers were absolutely amazing, but I must say I was more jazzed to see Cyndi. Cher put on QUITE a show, much video, much performance, many costimes and hairstyles, and dancers/acrobats putting on the coolest cirque-de-soleil type displays, hanging from the ceiling, etc. It was WILD.

So, I was talking about the shows today when I came in and Brett was like "Well, I can beat that, I saw Two Towers last night..."

It took everything within my power to not beat him up. :)

Grr. Why can't I go for more than a couple of weeks without biting my nails down. I tried all sorts of stuff, was finally getting some growth, and here I go, bit them all off today. *sigh*

Am pretty much done with everything that needed to be done about my stolen purse. What a relief. I should start getting new credit cards in later this week or next week.
