First I'd like to point out a wonderful discussion about a topic I'd never really thought all that much about. Jenn wrote a journal entry pondering the practice of editors publicly stating who they have nominated for various awards. The discussion that resulted from this post was very interesting, and is still growing.

I just bought The Road to Reality by Roger Penrose. I've said more than once that I want to be a writer, and my love of science stems from wanting really good ideas to write about. I like Penrose, because he doesn't just think outside the box. He all the boxes everyone else is thinking outside of and then makes his own to think outside of.
