I'm a web developer for NOVICA. I'm fascinated by languages, even though I only speak English and a little Spanish. I can count in Korean and have numerous language and linguistics books. I'm living within walking distance of CSUN where I share an apartment with my girlfriend and 2 cats. I'm happy. I write sporadically (I really need to finish that short story), with every intention of making a living at it at an undisclosed point in the future. I taught physics at Emperor's College Winter Term 2008. I love games and stories and music and computers and science and "and." I drink my coffee 100% black 80% of the time and 80% black 20% of the time. Also, there are other things. 7332 42

Go and NaNoWriMo

Last Tuesday I played go at the Unurban. I played again last night. It feels good to get back into this routine. Last week I played and lost 2 games taking a 9 stone handicap. I also won the one even game that I played. Last night I played 2 games. The first was a dramatic loss to a rising star in the go club. She gave me 2 stones, and the game could have been much closer than it was. Like so many aspects of my life, I need to get better at finishing things. Every time I play a good series of local moves I tend to move on to a different section of the board before I've fully taken advantage of whatever it was I did well. I won the second game I played last night. Tom has been away from go about as long as I have, but he claims to have been 12kyu when he stopped playing. It was an even game, so either he's REALLY rusty, or I've improved through lack of playing...

Also, I'm writing.
