I live and work an exit apart on the 10. During any sane hour it's still faster to wind my way through the stoplit undivideds, but when I'm needed at the office after midnight, the freeway is a joy. I saw no other car tonight and a quick glance as I passed over the 405 yielded little more than darkness ... some orange signs indicated that I'd have been forced off barren asphalt if my exit hadn't shown up before the detour.
