Nothing of Note

Today I have to deal with the hell that is yearly peer and self-reviews at this sorry excuse for a publishing company. They're all due tomorrow, and while I've known about this for weeks, I still haven't started on them. Apparently I've agreed to do peer reviews for half of the floor, so I'm thinking of dusting off my thesaurus. I can only use words like "proactive," "task-oriented", and "accountability" so many times without gagging. I hate this corporate management bullshit. Can you say "counterproductive"?

I've managed to further delay the inevitable by making lunch plans as well. I am the master. Well, mistress I suppose. Moving on...

I sort of fell in love with Galyans yesterday. Since Newman closed and there's no REI in the state I really needed a place like this. After lusting after kayaks and backpacks I settled on some hiking pants, a day pack, and a waterproof shell. I was wishing I had the extra dough to lay down for a sweet pair of trail running shoes but alas, I did not.

Went to Cheesecake with my sisters. The chocolate cheesecake had me smiling all the way home.

Of course, right now I'm trying to determine exactly how sad it truly is that I find myself writing about hiking shoes and cheesecake.
