So I've decided to take a long weekend someplace pretty with LJ. I've been looking for ideas, places to go, and an overwhelming majority of Clevelanders have suggested upper-peninsula Michigan as a great place to go. Of course, the only other votes were for Put-In-Bay here in Ohio and a random vote for someplace in PA.

I was still undecided when someone was describing the "wilds" of UP Michigan (there are wilds left in Michigan?), pretty cabins/cottages, places to canoe, etc.

But of course, I was at work at the restaurant, where conversations happen in snippets. So I don't know where exactly to start looking for a place to stay.

So, anyone ever been to Michigan?
