So Cake is going to tour. They're not coming here. I'm angry about this. My only other options are driving to Columbus on a Thursday or driving to Pittsburgh on a Sunday to see them. Neither option has me all that thrilled. If Green Day also stands me up I'm moving somewhere more concert-worthy.

Today marks my three-year anniversary at this wonderful job. That's the longest I've ever been employed at one place. When I look around the office this morning, all I can really ask is...Why? To mark the occasion I had a bagel for breakfast and smuggled Tolstoy under my desk for some reading. I now feel that, in a very mixed-up way, I'm actually being paid for having a brain. Don't want to discount the personal-enrichment factor, either.

Also watched Office Space for the Nth time last night, which has me contemplating the logistics of stealing a printer to bash in with a baseball bat before heading to the restaurant this evening to flip everyone off. What a day it would be!

In other news, at noon today I will be five days smoke-free. Add that to my three year anniversary here and you will understand why I am now just the hollow shell of a person.

And now, I will prepare for my laborless Labor day celebrations. Perhaps, with enough alcohol, I will cease to realize that this will probably be the only holiday this year that I will not have to work!
