2004-09-09 7:59 AM Dust off your Docs! I was driving home to the grocery store, no less, when I heard the first strains of it. Finally. Social Distortion's first single in what, eight years? Sounds damn good, boys! And on October 26 they'll be playing in this lil' ol' hick town (insert girlie-screech here). Then I learned that their bass player left the band, and who do they replace him with? Matt Freeman! Mix a little Rancid into Social D and I'm thinking I might faint with excitement or something.
It seems that all of the bands from my decaying youth are finally making music again. We've got Cake, Green Day, and now Social D. Who's next? Wait a second, who's still alive? I'll have to look into that and come up with a list of comebacks that I have to see before arthritis sets in. So of course the fourth season of Angel was released on Tuesday. Now, seeing as how I had to stop watching Buffy and Angel when I moved in with Sam (it scared the kids, and besides, Sam hated both shows) I haven't seen a single episode from this season. So far, not so good. I mean, Cordy and CONNOR? Ew. That's Wicked Gross. It was bad enough when they tried to drum up a romance between her and Angel, but Connor was just a baby, like, five episodes ago. Yuck. On another completed unrelated note, I've started the spray-bottle method of beagle-training. Now, every time my hand brushes the bottle the dogs skitter away and squint their eyes. It's sort of funny. And I saw little Sammy this weekend. Let me rephrase. I saw not-so-little Sammy this weekend. Little, bird-like Sammy is now about as birdlike as a...I can't finish that sentence without being insulting. Let's just say, he's filled out quite a bit. And, Sam would not be amused, but he even has a little belly just like his Dad. It was great. I can't believe the boy is seven. I changed his diapers, and now he's seven years old. I'm getting old.
