Update

I will continue my musical gluttony today as I head to the record store after work to pick up the new Green Day and Elvis Costello CDs. Both got decent reviews in EW (a magazine I really don't trust, but I haven't checked AP for the GD review, and of course the new Onion isn't up until tomorrow...so it looks like I'll get to form my own opinion before I read the opinion of those who I will most likely disagree with anyway).

My weekend was pretty tame. Friday night at the restaurant was both frustrating and unproductive, a trend which would continue on Saturday night. Saturday morning dawned with some LJ-ness and pancakes, and on Sunday I remembered why I try to spend time with boys who don't like sports. Yes, I sat through the Browns game and no, the book I brought, the nap I took, and the beer I drank could not make it entertaining. After football, football, and more football I practically dragged LJ out of the house and headed to Dave and Buster's to shoot some zombies and race some cars. It helped.

Been thinking quite a bit about S. these days. I suppose it's his birthday this Sunday that has my thoughts with him. Saturday night I waited on a gentlemen wearing a whole lot of Eternity, and it stopped me in my tracks. I can't believe how long it's really been. Feels like yesterday...

And with that I depart with the songs that are making me smile today...

"Eurotrash girl" by Cracker
"Surf Wax America" by Weezer
"Hope" by Sublime
"Story of My Life" by Social Distortion
"Don't Think Twice" (written by Bob Dylan, performed by Mike Ness)
"Hey, Julie" by The Fountains of Wayne
"The View" by Modest Mouse
"Memory" by Sugarcult
