Words-of-Mine

No matter what the day brings, deep down I know it really is a good day because I have the man of my dreams, a kitty who loves me, a roof over my head and I live in paradise.

"My children have a Higher Power, and it's not me" - Carolyn White

This quote really speaks to me. I feel if I had known this back when I was actively parenting; it would have made life easier for both me and my son. There seems such a fine line we parents have to walk in guiding our children to adulthood.

The last few days I have been having trouble with indigestion. I ultimately had to take something for it but I was not aware of what was causing it.

When Michael found out I liked baked onions, he began preparing them for me whenever he baked chicken. Mmmm, I just love the flavor of onions. Well, I did a little research and found that though onions are good for us just like garlic is, some of us can experience indigestion and even diarrhea if over eaten.

Since then, I have eaten a half an onion and I haven't been bothered with an upset stomach.

My big job of the day was to do laundry. I gathered everything up and Michael drove me over to the laundromat. It was fairly busy but the machines I like to use were available. I thought I was going to get some reading time in but my next door neighbor came in with her laundry and then a food bank/biker friend came in. I was miss socialite visiting with each of them and getting caught up on current affairs.

One excitement was a patron left with her clean laundry and we discovered she had left her quarters behind. As it was, one of the dryers was acting up and the maintenance man came in and so we told him about the money. After taking care of the dryer, he took the change and told us that if the woman came back to send her to the liquor store around the corner where he works and she could claim her money. Sure enough, she came back to do some more laundry and we told her where it was.

Oh, big doings in our little burg.

New stove yesterday and today brought two little pansies to my door. My neighbor Mr. T had been doing some landscaping and had some leftovers. So now I have two little flowering plants. The flowers are oranges and are very pretty. Mr. T also gave me a can of blue spray paint so when the wind dies down, I can paint my black nursery pots a lovely shade of blue. The color will tie in to what he has going which I don't mind. Ooh, I just love it.

I can't remember if I wrote about this but I started two pots of California poppy seeds. I am hoping with all the rain we have had lately and my watering, I will be seeing little green sprouts soon. I also have a small stretch of earth along the joining fence that I am considering putting down poppy seeds there. I feel it would be very colorful if they were to take off.

So, it seems I am back on the uphill of feeling better and I like it.
