Words-of-Mine

No matter what the day brings, deep down I know it really is a good day because I have the man of my dreams, a kitty who loves me, a roof over my head and I live in paradise.

The only people with whom you should try to get even with are those who have helped you." - John E. Southard

This morning I woke up and I felt contentment. All is well in my world for this moment.

The sun is shining. I went out to the patio and put clean water in the bird baths and watered the plants. It is still early and it is all ready warm, another day in paradise.

I need to check on-line to find out what time the solar eclipse is going to happen. I heard either the night before or last night on the news that for us on the West Coast were going to have a good view of the event. I can't even remember the last solar eclipse I saw here. It seems like sometime in the 90s.

The beans were heavenly. I had eaten lightly during the day so I could have a whole up of beans. A serving size is 1/4 cup and I knew I would not be happy with that. I am glad that the food bank is good about giving dried beans because I like them better than canned beans. There are no additives or preservatives to what I cook other than what I put in them.

The rest of the day has been a lazy one. We watched the 137th Preakness Stakes horse race this afternoon at the Pemlico Race Track. I'll Have Another who won The Kentucky Derby came from behind and won beating out Bodiemeister yet again. I'll Have Another's racing team will now be heading to the Belmont race in three weeks to try for the win and become a Triple Crown winner with winning all three races. There hasn't been a Triple Crown winner since 1978 when Affirmed won that race.

So let's all cheer for I'll Have Another. This is a really great horse!
