Words-of-Mine

No matter what the day brings, deep down I know it really is a good day because I have the man of my dreams, a kitty who loves me, a roof over my head and I live in paradise.

"The trouble with most of us is that we'd rather be ruined by praise than saved by criticism." - Norman Vincent Peale, "The Power of Positive Thinking"

It is a new day and I still don't feel up to par.

Michael and I decided last night to forgo the food bank today since we still have plenty of provisions for now. I think we can get through until Friday.

I slept in this morning although I had a phone call early in the morning. It was a number I didn't recognize so I did not answer it. This I shut down my phone's sound system so as not to be bothered by any of the other alarms I have set.

I read an article yesterday on LifeHacker wherein it tells how we have come to rely on our smart phones too much. I don't have a smart phone but I DO rely on my cell phone a great deal to remind me when I need to take medicine, to remind me when I have appointments to keep, and other such stuff.

Knowing that my cell phone could run out of juice (although I do keep track of that and charge it up regularly) I keep everything in my date book as well. I have one friend who said to me, "I keep everything in my date book (paper) because it has never run out of juice, it doesn't crash, and I have never lost it. All sound reasoning if you ask me.

Bailey and I went around the apartment opening up blinds, shutting off outside lights, and opening windows. He was even patient enough for me to clean out the birdbaths in back and refill them. He knows he is next on the list. Later with Michael's assistance, the hummingbird feeder is out. Last week I saw some hummingbirds in the bottle brush bush and I have been hearing them. I hope within a day or so they will find the feeder and will come to visit more often.

Well, I'm off to clean up the kitchen and then onto the sanctuary to finish up that part of the room.

Even though I am not feeling well, I did get the kitchen cleaned up and finished off the office part of my sanctuary.

And, now I am going to call it a day.
