Words-of-Mine

No matter what the day brings, deep down I know it really is a good day because I have the man of my dreams, a kitty who loves me, a roof over my head and I live in paradise.

Thursday

More rain arrived and it came down hard. All of my kitty litter boxes needing to be washed are completely full. If there was thunder and lightning last night I didn't hear a thing. This is one thing about California the thunder storms don't come very frequently. After living in Maine and Kansas, I became quite enamored of the storms. Not so much of the end results such as up-turned trees or downed power lines. The storms were just so beautiful but I loved them.

When we lived in Florida, I saw heat lightning as they seemed to sketch around the clouds. There usually wasn't much thunder but every now and then. The lightning was fun to watch.

As I said, out here in California, I think since I have lived here, I have only heard three or four storms. I guess the storm Gods leaved it up to the Earth Gods to do the rumbling when there is an earthquake. There are times when I could have sworn a freight train was coming. No train, but the ground would be shaking. This wasn't much as I have been in an earth quake when the bed was shaking as well as the room. Ye haw!

So here it is Thursday. I wanted to go out and play in the rain again but Michael reminded me that I could possibly catch a cold and that would not be a good thing. I took his counsel and kept myself inside. Besides, I have plenty of house work and I have to get ready for the insurance lady is coming over to talk about the new supplement health insurance I wish to get involved in. Because of the rain, she was not able to make it today and will come next week.

Okay, so now I will balance my checkbook. Some time later, yea, my register balanced to the penny. I think this is the first time in over a year. It amazed me at how many times I can mess up with adding and subtracting.

Now my job is to rearrange my annual budget sheet. At this point there isn't paper long enough to print this document out on. I have finally figured out how best to do it.

Michael was duly impressed since he wanted to see where our monies were heading off to. He even actually gave me praise for my ever diligent work to keep us as much in the black. I guess it is my Maine background and having lived on my own, it was very important to know where all my money was going and to be sure the bills were paid first prior to the purchasing the fun stuff.

Our pleasant surprise for day's end was our neighbor brought over a small pot of homemade stew he had made earlier in the day. I must say there was enough for two large bowls - bowls big enough to make a meal for me - which we had for dinner. It is nice when we neighbors are kindly like this.

Our kindness to our neighbors is to share the extras of canned goods and extra fruits and veggies with them. We usually make up a bag of stuff and give to one and then the next bag; we will give to another neighbor and navigate the apartments so in the end everyone has received a bag. Some I know can really use it and I am glad I can share.

So this is the end of Thursday. What a pleasant day. I hope you have had the same in your day.
