Words-of-Mine

No matter what the day brings, deep down I know it really is a good day because I have the man of my dreams, a kitty who loves me, a roof over my head and I live in paradise.

"Learn to say 'no' to the good so you can say 'yes' to the best." - John C. Maxwell

I haven't won the lottery.

What has happened?

I am medicating myself with music. I love music. Mostly country and western, but, I do like Cher, Bette Midler, and Neil Diamond.

Playing music helps keep me calm - plan and simple.

This is where the quote comes in. Years ago Michael was going to purchase me an IPod. At the time, I wasn't interested. Now years later, I want music with me at all times. I don't necessarily have to have it playing. Only when I begin to go into "stinkin' thinkin'" or I become stressed or anxious.

I was able to buy a middle of the road MP3 player. A no frills kind of gadget but one that lets me listen to music. I especially like it during the night when I wake up from a bad dream. Instead of ruminating about the dream, I can listen to music, calm down and fall back to sleep again. After 10 minutes, my player will shut itself off.

As of this date, I have only spent 98 cents on one song I wanted. The rest of the music has come from You Tube. I don't know the technical stuff but You Tube has a download player that converts the music to MP3 music. I download it to my computer and from the computer to the player. I am amazed how much I have learned this week.

So, here is a photo of my alternative medication:

Right now I'm listening to The Proclaimers singing 500 Miles." Which if you saw the move "Benny and Joon" this was the opening song. With my favorite actors: Johnny Depp, Aiden Quinn, Mary Stuart Masterson, Julianne Moore, William H. Macy, and Oliver Platt.

With this, I shall say good night but Michael and I did get in our walk today!
