Words-of-Mine

No matter what the day brings, deep down I know it really is a good day because I have the man of my dreams, a kitty who loves me, a roof over my head and I live in paradise.

10:49 a.m.
I slept in this morning. When I awoke, the skies were gray. I wonder if we are going to have more rain today.

Bailey jumped up onto the bed when he saw I was moving around. Lucky him, I got a hold of him just right and bench pressed him four times. This was a different feeling for me since I am used to a solid bar. I certainly didn't want to hurt him. Let me tell ya, a 12 pound cat is quite a bit to lift. When I set him on the bed he held his position a bit before moving away from me.

My friend Big M gifted me an electric tea pot, just a basic one and it works lovely. When we are in the dining room, we start the pot on high and once the water is hot we turn it down to a lower setting and we have hot water for as long as we want. It doesn't have an automatic shut off so I'm watchful of it. I certainly don't want to burn the apartment down.

12:13 p.m.
Well, we've just had a visit from Big M. What a treat! We talked about the schedules of the various food banks since next week since we have Thanksgiving and then general talk about stuffs. She had walked over and would not consider us giving her a ride to home. Luckily the rain has stopped for the time being.

The rain gauge says we have little less than an inch after the last three days. Not a lot but it makes the outside smell good.

The sun did come out for awhile but now it has gone inside again.

"Big baby, hiding out behind the clouds."

Well, I've been offered the gracious journey of being someone's sponsor in the program. After 23 years I feel I am ready to do this. This is not the first time for me; I have sponsored three others over the years. It shall be interesting voyage.

5:45 p.m.
Yea! We did get some sunshine today. I've declared tomorrow is going to be laundry day. Big doings with this, having to go to the laundromat, three loads to take care and then bring it all back home. Michael's back has gone out so he won’t be able to help much.

While Michael napped today I went in and finished cleaning up the kitchen. How much nicer it looks. Michael was very surprised when he came in to take care of dinner.

Decided to give myself a pedicure today instead of waiting for Monday, I was becoming tired of the color I had used and wanted another. I don't know what it is but I just don't have the flexibility anymore to get my feet around to where I can see them. I talked to Michael about finding out how much it would cost to just get a change of polish. From there the conversation went to Michael painting my nails. I prep them and he paints them and I pay him. This would be a good thing as it would give Michael some change in his pockets. Will have to see the next time I need new polish. Could be fun I guess.

5:54 p.m.
Ah, the Sunday Night Football game has started. Baltimore Ravens and the Pittsburg Steelers. At this time, the score is 7 to 3, the Steelers ahead. Their first score came from a touch down and made in three plays. The Steelers are off to a good start. This is without Ben Roethlisberger, their star quarter back, who is on the sideline for an injury. When it was all over the score was 13 to 10 to the Ravens. Ugh!! Well, there is always next Sunday.

6:30 p.m.
Michael was able to get up and around and head for the kitchen. I came into help but he pretty much did it all. Tonight's delicious dinner is filet chicken thighs with Fox Point seasoning from Penzeys, with baked potatoes and onions and topped off with green beans.

Thus the night is upon us and we settle into our respective seating and Sunday night moves along.

Well, this is me signing off. I hope your day was a grand one.
