Words-of-Mine

No matter what the day brings, deep down I know it really is a good day because I have the man of my dreams, a kitty who loves me, a roof over my head and I live in paradise.

Waning Moon Scorpio > Sagittarius/1:10 p.m. PST

In today's society there are not too many places that one can find peace and quiet. The only time I have found that space is just before dawn when even the birds are not up yet, no one is moving on the roads, and the wind isn't rustling through the trees. Ah, I love that time of day.

Within the last month, Michael and I have been finding peace and quiet with the fact we have been leaving the television off. We get two national stations and three PBS stations. Some nights there isn't anything to watch. Instead, the telly stays off and I read or watch a movie on my smart phone; Michael is watching DVDs and we don't miss the TV at all. It amazes me we have reached this stage in our lives.

After I told my friend Bex about my wanting to read "Mrs. Dalloway" by Virginia Woolf. She found a copy of it on-line for me and I have been immersed in Woolf's writing. They sure don't write like that today. I've also received documentaries, the movie "Mrs. Dalloway" and other bits and pieces on the life of Virginia Woolf. From this small gesture, my world has opened up and it wouldn't have if my nose had been glued to the television.

I love my piece and quiet at night to broaden my horizons of what is out there in the world.

Don't get me wrong, I like a good movie or a show as well the next one, but when it is all reruns - SHUT the TV off.
