Words-of-Mine

No matter what the day brings, deep down I know it really is a good day because I have the man of my dreams, a kitty who loves me, a roof over my head and I live in paradise.

I don't usually do memes but I couldn't resist Bex's meme at Crow Cottage.

So, here goes:

1) When you turn on the TV, which station do you automatically go to first?

A: NBC, the Today program.

2) Would you want the Olympics to come to a town or city near you? If yes, Summer or Winter?

A: Not really but since in our immediate area doesn't get snow it would have to be the Summer Olympics.

3) If there is a big dust or fur-ball on your floor, can you just walk right by it, or do you have to stop and pick it up right then?

A: I ignore Bailey's fluff balls for awhile but then I just have to pick them up.

4) When you see a certain kind of food, as on TV, does it immediately trigger your brain to want/crave that food?

A: I'm with Bex, pizza, burgers, seafood. Only, I fight the urge and stick with what we have.

5) Do you rake your leaves (in the fall) when some are down on the ground or do you wait until all the leaves are off the trees and THEN rake?

A: We don't have trees with leaves. We have needles. Landscaping comes in with a leaf blower and blows the needles into a pile and then rakes them up.

6) If you could afford it, would you hire someone to come in and clean your abode, even though you were there and just sitting around doing nothing?

A: The older I get the more I would like someone to come in and do the things that are hard for me to do like clean my bathroom shower/tub area, wash the linoleum floors and vacuum the carpets. The rest I can handle.

7) How many nights per week or month do you eat food that was prepared by a stranger?

A: I don't consider my husband a stranger but he is the chief cook and sometimes a bottle washer. If it is something I can do in the microwave, I can do that.

8) Did you know that the word "selfie" is the Oxford Dictionary's "Word of the Year"? What would be your "Word of the Year" other than this one?

A: Yes, I was aware of the word selfie. I have done it a couple of times on my blog or to my friends but that is it. As for my word for the year? Actually it is two words: Good Health.

9) Have you ever been to the capital city of your state/province?

A: Yes, Sacramento but it has been years.

10) If you could replace the President of the U.S. right now, with the wave of a wand, who would you choose to replace him (anybody, past or present)?

A: Eleanor Roosevelt.

11) Would you ever consider voting for a President who was single? A woman? A single woman?

A: Yes.

12) Do earlier and earlier Christmas/Holiday ads make you want to get out there and spend, or to protest and not spend until much later?

A: I am so sick of commercialism. I only shop at my local stores if at all. Although I do support Support Small Business on the day after Black Friday.

13) Do you really believe one single man, acting alone, killed JFK?

A: Oswald doesn't appear that intelligent to carry out the assassination by himself.

14) When you are home all day with no plans on going out, do you get dressed or stay in your jammies?

A: I didn't used to when I was dealing with severe depression but now I dress every day but Sunday. Sunday is my jammie day.

15) If you lost the remote(s) to your main TV, would you go ballistic with rage or just do something else, like read?

A: I would get stressed out as I don't know how to change the channels on the telly.

16) Do you eat a healthy breakfast, nothing at all, or just coffee/tea and maybe toast?

A: I usually have a cup of tea and a bowl of cereal, Raisin Bran unless Mr. F feels in the mood to prepare bacon and eggs. Yum.

17) Is suppertime at your home usually at the same time each day?

A: Meals for us are whenever we get hungry. So it could be 4 p.m. up to 8 p.m.

18) If you won the lottery, do you think it would eventually ruin your life or would you be able to handle it OK?

A: No, I don't believe it would ruin our lives. I'm too much of a penny pincher. I would put some money in savings and the rest into my investments for later use.

19) Would you want a casino built near your home? If it were built there, would you frequent it?

A: There is one in the county but I have never been there. I am not a gambler.

20) Have you ever served on a jury and, if so, was it a good experience for you?

A: No. Because of my physical/mental disabilities precludes me from this experience.
