Words-of-Mine

No matter what the day brings, deep down I know it really is a good day because I have the man of my dreams, a kitty who loves me, a roof over my head and I live in paradise.

Broadening My Horizons with a Poem

The Passionate Shepherd to his Love

Come live with me and be my love,
And we will all the pleasures prove
That valleys, groves, hills, and fields,
Woods, or steepy mountain yields.
And we will sit upon rocks,
Seeing the shepherds feed their flocks,
By shallow rivers to whose falls
Melodious birds sing madrigals.

And I will make thee beds of roses
And a thousand fragrant poises,
A cap of flowers, and a kirtle
Embroidered all with leaves of myrtle;

A gown made of the finest wool
Which from our pretty lambs we pull;
Fair lined slippers for the cold,
With buckles of the purest gold;

A belt of straw and ivy buds,
With coral clasps and amber studs;
And if these pleasures may thee move,
Come live with me, and be my love.

The shepherds's swains shall dance and sing
For thy delight each May morning:
If these delights thy mind may move,
Then live with me and be my love.

Christopher Marlowe

The mind pictures this poem brings to me makes me want to go live in a cabin in the hills. To have some ducks and geese and, of course, sheep. A small garden would be good too. Maybe my green thumb would come out of the closet for this.

Morning started out with 25 crunches, took care of the cat and then out the door for a walk. It was chilly towards early morning. Enough to turn on the heater to warm up the room.

While walking I was okay with just a long sleeve T-shirt.

Our temperatures went from the low 70s down to the 60s and the low was at freezing. I brought in my rosemary plant but I left the rest to fend for themselves.

When I went out to do some weed pulling, everyone looked fine so I guess the cold did not bother them.

Sorry there are no photos today. I didn't see anything worth photographing. Although now I kick myself of not taking a photo of Clyde the dog. I'm not sure what breed. His color is a silver brown and the nicest personality. I hope he is there tomorrow and I will take a photo.

Clyde's dad is a licensed contractor and he is at a home doing some work there. A nice guy the few times we have spoken.

I did see seven doves which is an odd number since they usually are in pairs.

I still find it hard to believe it is December and no rain. Though the weather people are predicting some. No rain is just another day for me to walk.

The one exception is I was asked by a brand x (something other than a Harley) motorcycle rider how to find his way to Montana de Oro state park. I gave him the directions and off he went. Oh, I so want to be riding on days like this.

Okay, I said no photos but here is a photo of my prized rosemary plant. Pretty to look at and good for seasonings like rosemary chicken.

And here is one of my demonized kitty who bites me but looking oh so cute. Why do they always look cute when they are sleeping?
