Words-of-Mine

No matter what the day brings, deep down I know it really is a good day because I have the man of my dreams, a kitty who loves me, a roof over my head and I live in paradise.

I have a Twitter account. I check it occasionally but I really don't find it helpful. The one positive note was I responded to Josh Mankiewicz of Dateline on one of the programs where he was the interviewer. Amazingly, he did respond to my post. Surprised the daylights out of me. Other than that, I don't care about Twitter.

I found another poem I liked and wish to share with you:

The Crocodile

How doth the little crocodile
Improve his shining tail,
And pour the waters of the Nile
On every golden scale!

How cheerfully he seems to grin
How neatly spreads his claws,
And welcomes little fishes in,
With gently smiling jaws!

Lewis Carroll

Is that a fun little poem or what?

I was able to get out of the worst of my funk yesterday. Last night, Mr. F assisted me in setting up our little table top Christmas tree and Biker Santa. I also found my model red Chevy step-side which I put one of the Harley Christmas tree ornaments. The ornaments are too heavy to put on the tree. Here is a photo of the end results. The flash takes away the ambiance of the room but you get the idea.

Indoor Holiday

Some of the folks around us really get into the holiday. There are lights everywhere and air-filled characters. All very nice to look at but Mr. F and I are simple people and we like simple things. Below is our outdoor look for the holiday.

Holiday Door

Keep it simple is our motto.

Something else I did to stave off the depression is I made up a batch of chili this morning. Mr. F assisted with the chopping of the onion, chilli peppers (all ready burned), garlic, celery, tomatoes, and a yellow bell pepper.

Meanwhile I sauteed up the onions and garlic and the meat.

Everything went into the crock pot including beans and now I have a yummy fragrance in the apartment.

Since I didn't use an exact recipe it will be interesting to see how this turns out.

One thing about cooking, is it keeps my mind occupied.

I have some more puttering around the house to do but other than that it is an easy day today.

"There comes a time in your life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad, and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right, pray for the ones who don't. Life is too short to be anything but happy.Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living."

-- Jose N. Harris, MI VIDA

"I expect to pass through life but once. If therefore, there be any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do to any fellow being, let me do it now, and not defer or neglect it, as I shall not pass this way again." - William Penn, English entrepreneur and philosopher
