Words-of-Mine

No matter what the day brings, deep down I know it really is a good day because I have the man of my dreams, a kitty who loves me, a roof over my head and I live in paradise.

Polar Bear Dip

Here we are at another new beginning. One of the traditions in Cayucos, a town north of me is the polar bear dip. I've gone to view the courageous people who dip in the ocean on this day. Not me, one, I don't go in the water (I saw Jaws) and two, the water is too cold for me.

Another town that has the same tradition is Lubec, Maine. I used to live in Maine but it was Mz. Bex at Thoughts From Crow Cottage that found this town while arm chair traveling. We both had a good time going around to the different sites of this town. However, I couldn't even imagine going into the water there since it is on the Atlantic and the water would have to be so much colder than here in California.

Although I was up for the new year to come in, I was awake around 6 a.m. and out of bed at 7:30 a.m. For me, this is just another day and my daily routine leads me on.

I was out of the house for my walk before 8 a.m. Oh my, is it chilly out here. I think the lows were to be in the 40s. Well it feels it and I was glad I had put my hoodie on.

The neighborhood is quiet. I suppose most folks stayed up late to later and now are sleeping in.

The ocean was a loud roar in the distance. The only photo I took this morning was some wood which had grown up through this fence. The majority of it had been cut away when construction for the sewer came to this point in the street.

As you can see in the background it is another beautiful day in the neighborhood.

A little later, we are driving over to friends for a little get together.

Another than that, it will be a day to rest and relax and maybe a cleaning chore or two. Nah.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

"There comes a time in your life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad, and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right, pray for the ones who don't. Life is too short to be anything but happy.Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living."

-- Jose N. Harris, MI VIDA
