Words-of-Mine

No matter what the day brings, deep down I know it really is a good day because I have the man of my dreams, a kitty who loves me, a roof over my head and I live in paradise.

Just Being Today

Yesterday I ended up with an intestinal thing that kept me running to the bathroom during the afternoon. No fun. Not sure what caused it but I'm glad it passed.

I woke up today feeling physically better which I'm glad about. I felt good enough to go for my walk. Thank heavens it was sunny and not too cool.

Which today, I remembered to grab one of my three pound weights to work with while I'm walking. I would work one arm and then the other switching the walking stick to the other hand.

Ooooh boy, I can tell I haven't worked with my weights in awhile. I made it down to the end of my street where it dead ends and both arms are complaining. The rest of the walk I just held the weight in each hand for awhile before moving it to the other hand. I wonder how my arms are going to feel tomorrow?

It's an easy day today which is fine with me. The only tasks I've accomplished was to vacuum the carpets and my chair. It amazes me at what turns up in my chair. Then I did the hand washables in the sink.

I did do some research in my Medicare booklet to find out if Medicare covers mental health. I don't know why I haven't asked this question before. Tomorrow, I will get on the computer and check out the Medicare site to see what I can find out. If not there, I will make a phone call and talk to a real person or at least I hope I can contact a real person.

While surfing around today, I found this interview with Janis Joplin on Blank on Blank. Janis is one of my favorite female singers of the 60s.

Mr. F is still bothered by his back but he has been getting up and moving around a bit. I sure wish I could twinkle my nose and help him to feel better.

Well, the Pro Bowl game was interesting. Jerry Rice's team won the game against Deion Sanders' team. It was a well played game in that there was lots of action and interceptions and you name it. I'm sure the guys liked playing in Honolulu.

Since we don't get CBS, I didn't get to see the Grammy Awards last night. I did see bits and pieces on the Today program. The group I would have liked to see perform were Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson, Blake Shelton, and Willie Nelson. Nelson and Kristofferson are the last two of the original Highway Men. The other two of the group now passed was Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings.

So the day is passing by and I feel the need to get back into my Mark Twain book. Have a good one.

"There comes a time in your life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad, and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right, pray for the ones who don't. Life is too short to be anything but happy.Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living."

"I expect to pass through life but once. If therefore, there be any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do to any fellow being, let me do it now, and not defer or neglect it, as I shall not pass this way again." - William Penn, English entrepreneur and philosopher
