In the matter of the State of Washington vs. Nancy Carol LeBovic, there was another pre-trial conference today. Nothing of consequence happened.
Unfortunately, I can't disclose certain interesting aspects, but here's what I can say: There is another conference slated for April 21, when a trial date is expected to be set, and a judge is expected to be assigned. The pre-trial discovery is proceeding along. The public defenders haven't sent Nancy to the state facility for psychiatric evaluation, which is something I would like to give you my opinion on, but it would be inappropriate to do so in a public forum. Also, the prosecutor gave me the State of Washington sentencing guidelines for the charges in this matter: First Degree Murder: 240-320 months With Firearm: Bonus 60 months Both are flat time--no time off for good behavior. Attempted Murder: 3/4 of above range Arson: 120-180 months I wish I had some witty remark to add in closing, but there's nothing funny about spending the rest of your life in jail. There's nothing funny about murder. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
