I wrote recently about our Jungle Boat Tour in Costa Rica and promised pictures.
In this first picture, the croc makes his approach on the chicken held by the guide. Remember, the crocs are wild animals; this was not a place with trained crocs who seek the chicken on command. It seems that a river guide with the grace of a ballerina and the intestinal fortitude of a bullfighter needs a far more romantic name than "guide." Perhaps "Sabroso Hombre de los Monstruous" (I just made that up and doubt it works in Spanish). Here is the guide and the chicken and the croc about half a second before the chicken is swallowed whole. Next time you are feeling crummy about your job, ask yourself if you would switch places with the guy in this picture, who probably makes $50-$75 on a great day. The fellow in these pictures told me that he loved his work, but of course, he would probably say that whether he actually does or not.
