Congress makes me sick. Why are they wasting their time scolding HP? Of course certain people on the HP board and certain employees made mistakes and worse. Heads are rolling as a result. But congressional testimony?
If HP broke laws, prosecutors can go after them. If HP shareholders don't like what has happened, they can sell. But congress? Absurd. People in congress should be addressing actual problems....like terrorism, energy and environmental policy, healthcare policy, social security, national debt, etc., etc. John Dingell asked perfectly reasonable questions that any HP shareholder would want to know. But when he asks them as a congressman who is supposed to be focused on real national problems, the sanctimonious pomposity is palpable. "Why weren't you paying attention at briefings and why didn't you read the reports that raised red flags," asked Rep. John Dingell, the top Democrat on the full committee. "Where was board leadership and responsibility?" (from Reuters) My question and statement for congress: "Where is the leadership and responsibility? You have your own ethics problems up the wazoo. You are a parliament of whores; most of you are focused on doing the bidding of your important donors." Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
