2006-10-09 6:03 PM Termination of Intractable Hiccups Read/Post Comments (2) |
According to Reuters, the IgNobles have been awarded this year. If this was April 1st, the article would be highly suspect, but since it's not, and Reuters is usually a good news source, I can only assume the article is true.
If you don't have time for the whole article, at least see the Medicine IgNobel, below: ********* -- MEDICINE - Francis Fesmire of the University of Tennessee College of Medicine and the team of Majed Odeh, Harry Bassan and Arie Oliven of Bnai Zion Medical Center in Haifa, Israel who both published studies entitled "Termination of Intractable Hiccups with Digital Rectal Massage." ********** As they might say on the Newlywed Game, "That'd be a finger up the butt, Bob." My questions are: who in the world thought of this method for curing hiccups and how; who performed the study; who paid for it, and who were the volunteers? On second thought, I guess I know enough already. Good grief. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
