Since the United States has an enemy that is hell-bent on our destruction, who has already killed 3,000 people on our own soil, it would seem prudent for our leaders to learn something about that enemy, starting with the basics.

Since Muslims (radical and otherwise), can be divided into two primary groups that have been feuding for centuries, maybe we would want to know a bit about what the groups' differences are and what they fight over.

Since the most widely known and widely feared terrorist organization in the world is comprised almost exclusively of members of one of the groups, you would think we would want to know which group and why.

Well, it's disturbing enough when astonishing numbers of our general citizenry can't even locate Iran or Iraq on a map, (or, for that matter, New Hampshire), but what is "beyond the beyond" is when our leaders don't even know the basics on who we are up against.

Here's an idea: The President and his cabinet, plus all 535 members of the House and Senate, plus the Supreme Court, should get a three-day crash course on Islam, Shias, Sunnis, Al-Qaeda and the history of Israel-Palestine conflict. It should be taught by a couple of mainstream college professors, with numerous guest speakers brought in.

All of the foregoing has been a overly-long lead-in to an item from the Anonymous Hawk that is described in this disturbing article.

If anyone wants to learn more about Islam basics, I highly recommend "No God But God" by Reza Aslan.
