Here's a snippet from yesterday's Cincinnati Enquirer (a serious newspaper having nothing to do with the National Enquirer). It was about a fundraiser that Obama had in Cincinnati a couple days ago.
*************** Harold Brooks, a long-time Republican Party activist from Westwood, said he came to the breakfast because he plans to help organize a 'Black Republicans for Obama' organization in Ohio. "My party may not like it, but I support Sen. Obama," Brooks said. "He’s the best candidate I’ve seen." *************** Which reminds me of the night a few years ago that Bill Simon won the republican nomination in the CA governor race. Since I was working for Bill's investment firm, I was at the victory party. Bill introduced me to a black man, who said, "I am chairman of the California Black Republicans for Bill Simon Committee.
