Nick Kristof just published this terrific and inspiring piece about Valentino Deng.
In May 2007, I wrote this about Deng, and the book about him, called "What is the What." Shockingly, I found a way to name-drop the author, Dave Eggers, who I knew at one point.
If you only have three minutes, just read today's Kristof piece; if you have 3.5 minutes, read the last paragraph of my May 2007 post, and if you have 5 minutes and just must know how I knew Dave Eggers, then read the whole May 2007 post.
