I just saw two headlines on the lower part of the CNN website (CNN recycles articles on a regular basis, neither of these are breaking news). The striking thing was that the two headlines were immediately adjacent to each other on the CNN website.
The future is brighter than you think Mom kills her children, herself at Florida home Brutal juxtaposition and the second story will put a hole in your heart. The first article gives some hope, but the second, coupled with the story of the three abandoned children in Portland (whose mom was located today), makes me sadly think again of the haunting post-Katrina photo of a street sign for Humanity Street being almost engulfed by floodwater. And speaking of humanity, for those not on Facebook, I put the following up on FB last night: Does anyone else find this fascinating? A young man from Thousand Oaks, CA is a hero in China (now known as "American French Fry Brother") for a simple act of humanity caught on camera--showing some compassion for a homeless woman in Nanjing and sharing some food with her. Here's a short piece about it. Of course, there's always some haters too but that's to be expected. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
