My husband and I are thinking about taking a camping trip to Yosemite National Park in late April, dodging bears, getting some real-world experience on how to spot poison oak, re-reading the perennial favorite, “Deadly Insects and You: A Handy Guide.”

But I have a question that I can’t – gasp – seem to get a credible answer to despite Google’s best efforts. So I throw this quandary out into cyber space and hope for the best. Is it, in general, too cold in late April to enjoy sleeping in the permanent tent camps available in the park? (We’re talking wood frame with some canvas sides here.) The park, which provides heaters in some tents, turns them off for the spring just as we will be arriving. So it’s all body heat and spare blankets for us.

Anybody? Anybody? Somebody out there’s been to Yosemite in late April, right? Somebody? Anybody?
