2005-04-18 3:55 PM Say it ain’t so, Joan! Read/Post Comments (1) |
Warning! The following entry contains a shameless attempt to continue my television viewing habits unhindered by heartless entertainment executives hell-bent on destroying all that is good; well-written and doesn’t end with attention-starved, actor-wanna-be “contestants” vying for a million dollars/a short-lived, sure-to-be-annulled wedding/a singing contract/a co-host spot on “The View” etc.
It is rumored that CBS has not committed to renewing “Joan of Arcadia” for a third season and may, in fact, not do so. Something must be done. The wrong must be righted. For the love of plot, we must band together. “Joan” can not be allowed to go the way of “Sports Night.” (Don’t know “Sports Night?” Well that’s because it was cancelled! There was a thing with Aaron Sorkin who wanted to concentrate on the “West Wing”... Anyway, doesn’t matter. Point is: Great show. Good script. Sad end.) And if you’re not watching “Joan,” shame on you. Bad TV viewer! Bad! You will have to make amends. You will have to go to cbs.com and fill out their feedback form. You will have to tell the nice people at CBS in a subtle and non-threatening way that a plague will descend upon their houses if “Joan” is not renewed. Locusts are not to be sniffed at. Go forth and write! Save “Joan”! Save all that is good and decent about television! Failure to do so is likely to result in every channel in the known universe being taken over by endless reruns of “I’m a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here.” (Yes, that’s a real show.)
