The House and Senate have hammered out an agreement on extending daylight savings time by a month. Somehow the logic goes, if you have more sunny hours in the day, we’ll use less oil. I don’t have the foggiest idea how that adds up, but what concerns me more than my own ignorance, is that it appears politicians get to decide what time it is. The guy who got elected by 26 votes from his district in Boise gets that kind of power.

Does this freak anybody else out?
