2005-08-22 9:16 AM I Have Been Linked! Read/Post Comments (2) |
I feel so official. Another blogger has linked to my blog generating comments about my blog on that other blog which was blogging about my blog.
(See comments on the “Historical Remnants” post and follow the link. And thanks to Greg for letting me know!) There were questions there that I will try to answer quickly here. Mainly, “Who is this A.H. Baker person?” and “I can’t find her stuff,” which isn’t so much a question, but I’m going to pretend it is anyway. Originally a newspaper man in Missouri then briefly Florida then Texas, (let’s dispense with gender correct terms, I like “newspaper man” better than “person”) I got married and followed my husband’s much better paying career to Los Angeles. Lacking a resume impressive enough to get me so much as spit on by someone at the Times, I decided to dive off the cliff and do what I’d always wanted to do anyway – write novels. So that’s who I am and what I’m doing. I write under the pen name “A.H. Ream,” my maiden name that has the advantage of being short, pronounceable and still somewhat unusual all at the same time. And, unfortunately, an Amazon search won’t get you anywhere. My first publication in the L.A. crime fiction anthology, “LAndmarked for Murder,” won’t be out until 2006. Right now I’m working on the last few chapters of my current novel-in-progress. And if that ever gets picked up for publication, I promise you’ll hear about it. Oh sure, it’ll be in the blog, too. But I’ll be screaming from the top of my lungs, so everybody in the Pacific Time Zone will hear about it whether they want to or not. As the publication for “LAndmarked” grows nearer, (the capitalized LA are intentional, each story is centered around an L.A. area landmark – get it? LAndmarked?) I’ll be launching my own website and moving this blog. But that’s still a little ways away, so settle in and get comfy. I’ll let everyone know when I get a firm date on the anthology and any other publication news that comes around. In the meantime, I’ll keep blogging if you keep reading. Just make yourself at home.
