Dispatches from the City of Angels

I'm a writer and humorist living in and writing about Los Angeles. You can catch my novel LOSING CLEMENTINE out March 6 from William Morrow. In the meantime, feel free to poke around. Over at my website you can find even more blog entries than I could fit here, as well as a few other ramblings. Enjoy and come back often.

New Year's fix-it list

New Year's Resolutions: (pl. noun) The acknowledgment of my lameness the year before and a promise to fix it sometime really soon.

This year I'm going to get off my tookus and go volunteer. I swear to God. Really. Promise. Very, very soon I'm going to do that. Right after I unpack from my holiday trip, wrap my husband's birthday presents, catch up on the cleaning, laundry and grocery shopping. Just as soon as I organize my taxes, pay the bills, write my thank you notes and send a card to my husband's grandmother.

No, no. Really. I'm going to do it. I'm putting it in writing. You can hold me to it.

Anyone else foolhardy enough to tempt the fates? What are you fixing this year?
